Bad Credit Car Loans — Explore Your Financing Options

A difficult credit history does not automatically end the conversation. Approved By Saini reviews applications from customers across a range of credit situations, including bankruptcies and consumer proposals. Financing availability, approval, rates and terms depend on the application and the financing provider.

In short: your credit history is one of several things a lender looks at, not the only one. Approval, rates and terms are determined by the lender, and requirements vary by lender and by application — so the useful step is finding out where you actually stand rather than assuming.

What “bad credit” actually means here

People use the phrase loosely. It might mean missed payments in the past, a limited credit history, a bankruptcy or consumer proposal, other negative items on a credit report, or simply a score lower than you would like.

Those are different situations, and lenders may treat them differently. A limited credit history is not the same as a history of missed payments, which is why a single number does not describe the whole application.

There is no single credit score that guarantees approval. Credit-score requirements vary by lender and application, and the lender considers the full application.

What lenders look at besides your score

A credit score is a summary, not the application. Depending on the lender, the review may also consider:

Income and stability. Whether the payment is realistic against what you earn, and how settled your employment situation is.

The vehicle itself. Depending on the lender and financing program, factors such as age, kilometres, condition and value may affect the options available. Our vehicle requirements page sets out the criteria.

Down payment. A down payment reduces the amount financed and may affect the financing options available.

Credit history over time. Lenders may consider both recent and older credit information, and how they weigh it varies.

Which of these matter most, and how much, varies by lender and by application. We cannot guarantee the outcome in advance.

What applying involves

You submit your details, our team reviews the application, and we submit it to lenders for review. If financing options are offered, we explain them plainly: the rate, term, payment and total borrowing cost.

If there are not, we say so. That is more useful than being told to keep hoping.

Final approval, rates and terms are determined by the lender. We do not control that decision and we will not promise it.

If the answer is not yes today

Sometimes the honest answer is that now is not the right moment. Changes such as a larger down payment, a less expensive vehicle, or improvements in the overall application may affect what is available later.

That is not a brush-off. If the available financing does not fit your budget, waiting may be the better option.

Where to start

Rather than guessing, find out. Applying allows lenders to assess what may be available for your situation.
